A fun fact: the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé can sprint to 200 km/h (124 mph) from standstill in the time it takes you to read its full model name. Seriously now, the sporty coupe bolts 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and doubles that speed in just 10 secs. It takes a maniac to want to improve that kind of performance. No offense, Performmaster!
But back on topic with that. The abovementioned tuner just released a (seemingly) simple ECU remap for the car that somehow manages to bring its power output to some otherworldly 740 hp (552 kW) with 1,030 Nm (760 lbft) of torque. Installing the new chip takes a couple minutes at most, and once it is finished the car sprints 0-100 in laughable 2.9 secs before maxing out at 315 km/h (196 mph). That’s the kind of straight-line acceleration performance we’ve come to expect from the Techart Porsche 911 Turbo and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, not the 63 S...
Performmaster said it could make the German coupe go even faster than that if it weren’t for the failing tires.
