These expensive Mercedes-AMG rims don’t look expensive at all, do they?

It’s been almost a year since Mercedes-AMG launched the exclusive RWA Monoblock forged wheel set for its GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe (X190), but the debates still flare. Some people wouldn’t mind putting these rims on their own car, while others seem determined to fight back if forced to. Whose side are you on?

The RWA Monoblock set is only available in 21 inch size, but ships in several trims, including high gloss silver and matte black. The hardware doesn’t stick out thanks to the concealing decorative pads, and there are Mercedes stars at the hubs. Sounds great, so why doesn’t it look the part!?

Well, perhaps because the bulky, bloated, massive-looking monoblocks aren’t the best fit for the sleek luxury coupe. We are all used to seeing cheap rims like these mounted on buses, vans etc. On the other hand, those are usually stamped rather than forged. And cheap. More often than not, modern forged wheels strive to look lightweight and elegant.

Okay, the question stands: do you like or hate these?
