In the tuning studio IMSA drove the usual Mercedes-AMG GT S, and drove a completely different car. Employees of the company worked on the car so that it boldly took the proper place in the lineup of supercars.
What exactly has changed? Let's start with a review of the engine compartment. Engineers IMSA dismantled the standard for the Mercedes-AMG GT S turboturbated 4.0-liter "eight", and then reassembled by installing special forged pistons and modified turbochargers. Also, the power plant got another injection system and an intercooler. As a result of modernization, the capacity increased up to 860 horsepower.
Since the engine's output increased sharply, IMSA specialists had to deal with the problems with the transmission on the run. Also, the suspension and braking system were modified, and since the car became much faster and more powerful, it was equipped with a safety cage.
IMSA specialists stated that thanks to the use of carbon aerodynamic elements, the Mercedes-AMG GT S "lost weight" by 300 kilograms, which had a positive effect on its dynamic characteristics.
And finally, it became known that the novelty, which received the name RXR One Super Gran Turismo will be released in limited edition, but the exact number of cars has not yet been called.
