Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the entry-level version of its 2021 AMG GT. The sports car now gets 523 hp (390 kW) from its 4.0-liter V8, or 54 hp (40 kW) more than its predecessor did. The torque also goes up 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) to 670 Nm (494 lb-ft) max.
Outfitted like this, the super coupe can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in 3.7 seconds instead of 3.9 s. Depending on the particular body style, the acceleration may max out at 310 – 312 km/h (192.6 – 193.9 mph).
The new base GT trim also boasts AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential, and composite brakes. The seven-speed automatic transmission stays the same, but gains a new operation mode called Race.
Among other things, the updated GT family welcomes a new member named Stealth Edition. As you can see on the pics, the car sports a matte-black body, darkened lights all around, a differently designed roof and the entire AMG Exterior Night Package.
Sales in the United States will begin early next year.
