Mercedes-Benz GT 73 superhybrid shows up on photos

Mercedes has posted the first shots of its upcoming hybrid supercar named the GT 73. At around 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW), the newcomer should come out stronger than the GT Black Series.

A caption under the teaser images says that Mercedes-AMG furthers its partnership with the Petronas F1 racing team.

The GT 73 is a direct descendant of the GT Concept shown in the video here. It comes powered by an electrified twin-turbo V8 and reportedly has over 800 PS. As such, it can be relied upon to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under three seconds and be able to make around 50 kilometers (31 miles) on electric power alone.

The teasers show the GT 73 standing next to the Petronas F1 racer and the Mercedes-AMG One. The latter is rumored to have 1,200 PS (1,183 hp / 882 kW), even though it is still technically a prototype.
