Car media discovered long ago that Mercedes was getting a flagship version of its AMG GT 4-Door Coupe ready to rumble. The rumored GT 73e first came into the spotlight on official teaser shots earlier this spring, and now a test vehicle has been spotted being driven next to the company proving grounds at the Nürburgring.
The GT 73e is coming to us as a hybrid car packing a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor for 800+ HP (600+ kW) total output. As such, it should be able to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under three seconds, although it won’t go any faster than 130 km/h (81 mph) in all-electric mode.
The premiere should take place in the second half of the year, although a specific date remains to be announced.
