Mercedes-AMG GT 73e spied testing on the ‘Ring

The North Loop of the Nürburgring counts among the most difficult and demanding racing circuits worldwide, so many carmakers consider testing their cars there a matter of pride. The latest video shows a Mercedes-AMG GT 73e running lap after lap there.

Make sure to watch the three-minute recording with sound enabled to hear the tune produced by the car’s hybrid powertrain inspired by Formula 1 tech.

It remains anyone’s guess why Mercedes decided to test the GT 73e yet once again. Could it be getting ready for a new lap record, or did more tests suddenly become necessary? We do not know.

When the GT 73e ships, it will likely do so with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 under the hood assisted by an electric system. The total output should exceed 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque.
