Vinyl wraps can be handy when you need a quick and easy solution to protect the paint on your precious car from scratches and dents. It only works for a given measure of ‘precious’, however: supercars like the Brabus Rocket 900 demand special treatment.
The owner of this particular example went to Topaz Detailing for a thorough PPF (paint protection film) sealing. The detailer used two kinds of see-through film in the project: one glossy and the other inclining towards matte. The carbon wheel hubcaps, side mirrors, front splitter, rear wing and rear diffuser were allowed to retain their trademark Brabus gloss, whereas the body was wrapped in a more elegant sort of clear armor.
To guarantee that the interior stays fresh after years of use, Topaz selectively applied the film to surfaces most in danger of degrading due to continued use. We recommend watching the entire video to learn the tricks of the process.
In case you forgot, the Brabus Rocket 900 draws its power from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 bored out to 4.5 liters and fitted with forged pistons, a bespoke camshaft, new turbos, and a carbon air intake system, among other things. The hardware suite works with a new ECU tune to extract 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of torque from the engine.
