Mercedes AMG GT-R gets massaged for 700 hp / 522 kW

Unlike most car customizers out there, VÄTH Automobiltechnik GmbH prefers to deal with the substance, rather than the form. Their latest Mercedes AMG GT-R tune is yet another proof.

In its production form, the supercar produces 585 hp (436 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb×ft) of torque. The tuner delivers a rather impressive boost to 700 hp (522 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb×ft) by installing new downpipes, adding a 200cpsi metallic catalyst, and fiddling with the ECU. As a result, the coupe now surpasses the 330 km/h (205 mph) mark given ideal conditions, the company reports.

On the outside, you will never learn that this particular car has been tuned by VÄTH Automobiltechnik GmbH unless you notice that its standard-issue rear wing rises 15 cm (6 inches) taller than usual, propped up on two VÄTH-branded supports.
