The AMG GT is perhaps the single most popular Mercedes model on the tuning scene. Whether the standard version with 462 horsepower (345 kilowatts) or the range-topping GT R with 585 hp (436 kW) at its disposal, there are countless aftermarket upgrades available. That said, few are as extreme as this Stage 4 engine kit by G-Power.
Once installed, it persuades the stock 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 of the Mercedes AMG GT R to churn out 800 hp (596 kW) along with 850 Nm (627 lb×ft) of torque, representing a massive improvement of 215 hp (160 kW) and 150 Nm (111 lb×ft) over the factory numbers.
G-Power attains this level of performance by modifying the turbine chargers, the air intake system and the exhaust. It also reinforces the transmission and installs new forged cylinders, connecting rods, and fuel pump. Reportedly, the boost pressure ends up being even lower than before the tuning, but this comes at no expense to the resulting power output.
The Solarbeam Yellow display car additionally sports tuner logos throughout its body, a badge saying “GP 63 Bi-Turbo” at the rear end, and a set of G-Power Hurricane RR wheels made of high-tech, aviation-grade aluminum (20” front, 21” rear).
