Posaidon, a renowned auto customization and performance tuning company, has unveiled an extreme boost kit for the Mercedes-AMG GT supercar. The resulting performance lies close to 880 horsepower (650 kilowatts).
The upgrade incorporates enhanced turbochargers, a revised fuel system, forged pistons and an extensive ECU reprogramming, among many other things.
The team picked the range-topping AMG GT R as their show car, but mentioned that the RS 830+ kit is compatible with all other GTs as well. It contains no styling parts, just the power upgrades.
The torque had to be artificially capped at 1,000 Nm (738 pound-feet) to keep the transmission from falling apart. Once upgraded, the RWD Posaidon GT R gets from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and maxes out at 360 km/h (223.7 mph), making it the strongest and fastest AMT GT out there.
