Video: German trio soft-tops race each other on EuroSpeedway Lausitz

Watch a Mercedes-AMG GT R go up against a BMW M8 and an Audi R8 at the racetrack in Germany earlier known as the Lausitzring.

All three convertibles share similar base specs, but at 1,674 kilos or 3,690 lbs, the AMG GT is the lightest of the trio. It also sends the 585 hp (430 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque generated by its V8 4.0 TT to the rear axle.

The Audi comes powered by a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated mill good for 620 hp (455 kW) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque. It weighs in at 1,756 kg (3,871 lbs) and drives all four wheels.

The BMW M8 is the heaviest of the bunch at 1,988 kg (4,383 lbs), but packs a high-end twin-turbo V8 rated at 625 hp (460 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, as well as an AWD system.
