TIKT Performance has recently finished working on a performance-tuned Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro and invited Christian Gebhardt to test it out on a racetrack in Germany.
Compared to the stock AMG GT R – using the term ‘stock’ very loosely here – the custom ride rocks an aftermarket body kit consisting of a hood cover, a front splitter, canards, a rear wing, and assorted air vents. It takes advantage of lightweight 19- and 20-inch rims and houses two GT3-spec bucket seats in the cabin.
Things are no less exciting under the hood, where the stock 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 rises from 585 to 770 PS (577 – 759 hp; 430 – 566 kW). The torque simultaneously goes from 700 to 850 Nm (516 – 627 lb-ft).
Outfitted like this, the track weapon lapped up Hockenheim GP in 1:45.10, nearly three seconds faster than the stock car. It also came out ahead of the McLaren 720S, Ferrari 488 Pista and Lamborghini Aventador SVJ while still marginally yielding to the AMG GT Black Series, which Gebhardt himself led to the finish line in 1:43.30.
