Engineers of the famous tuning atelier Edo Competition have apparently found the top-performance model of Mercedes-AMG GT R still not quite powerful enough. To address that, they have given its stock 4.0L V8 engine with some already impressive 585 hp and 700 Nm of torque a significant boost – and the result is pretty amazing.
The tuned-up Mercedes-AMG GT R now has 651 hp and 780 Nm under its command. Even though Edo Competition refused to disclose any kind of detailed dynamic performance data, they did mention that it now goes much faster than the standard-issue model with its 340 km/h (211 mph). In order to ensure stability of the car on higher speeds, the engineers had to extend its wheelbase.
According to an official source, the new Mercedes-AMG GT R by Edo Competition uses the latest in automotive technology alongside some of the best solutions developed by the atelier especially for the high-end luxury vehicles like this. No price information has been given.
