Renntech squeezes another 248 horses under the hood of Mercedes-AMG GT R

The performance tuning atelier Renntech has come launched an upgrade package for the hi-end Mercedes-AMG GT R coupe. As a result, its performance went up another 248 hp to a grand total of 825 hp.

The AMG GT R825 package ships with an engine firmware update, improvements to blow valves and the chassis, a better air filter and new turbochargers. All of the above aims to improve the raw performance and the acceleration dynamics of the car.

The unmodded coupe ships with a 4.0-liter V8 engine capable of 577 hp (430 kW). The Renntech package improves that number by 248 hp (185 kW) to a total of 825 hp (615 kW).

The top-performance kit also comes bundled with a new aerodynamic body kit and an originally designed forged wheel/tire set.

Those willing to get their own Mercedes-AMG GT R by Renntech may do so now as long as they don’t mind paying a hefty sum of $250,000 USD.
