Adapting a Formula engine to a street-legal car is not an easy feat by any standards, and it looks like Mercedes-AMG is still struggling to get it right. Even so, the automaker has released a new video showing its pet hypercars doing lap after lap at the Immendingen Test Center in Germany.
One of the pre-production units tested comes equipped with an experimental 1.6-liter V6, four electric motors and an 800V battery.
Mercedes once again took this opportunity to remind everyone waiting for the AMG One to ship that racing technologies aren’t easy to bring on public roads. Noise proofing in particular is difficult to implement, and so is switching to all-electric mode and back.
Next up, the test vehicles will attempt some Nürburgring runs. Rumors have been circulating for a while now that the AMG One would be bound to set a new record at the ‘Ring; let’s wait and see how it works out.
