Spied: Mercedes-AMG Project One stalls out during tests

Ever since Mercedes-AMG unveiled the Project One prototype a few years ago, brand fans have been trying to spot in out in the open. In reality, however, the development team has stumbled upon numerous issues trying to adapt a dedicated racer engine to be road-worthy, and here’s another proof that things did not go well.

As you can see in the video, the prototype ran into issues mere seconds after entering the test track. After a brief pause, the driver was able to restart the V6, raise the ground clearance, and continue driving.
Note that the car entering a workshop at the end of the video has the same number plate but different side mirrors, suggesting that the footage was edited together.

When the AMG One finally overcomes its birth trauma, it will attempt to set a new speed record on the North Loop. It has everything going for it with a top speed of 355 km/h (220 mph) and a 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) sprint time of under six seconds.
