The story of the ultimate Mercedes-AMG road car – the One – began six long years ago, but the company has yet to properly introduce it to the general public. While some expect it to be present at the IAA Mobility Expo on September 7-12, here it is as depicted in Forza Horizon 5.
The short video aired on Gamescom in Cologne on August 25-27. Playground Games will be launching the video game on PC and consoles on November 9, 2021, and you can already pre-purchase it.
AMG claims the game presents the One in a ‘hyper-realistic’ light with ‘astonishing level of detail’. Among other things, the virtual prototype of the real car accelerates just like the real thing, handles like it, too, and makes use of its active aerodynamic package. Note also the red livery that hints it’s not a production example just yet. The trailers follows the coupe as it nearly hits 350 km/h (217 mph) riding along picturesque Mexican landscapes along with a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Ford Bronco Badlands.
All 275 real-life hypercars scheduled for production have already been sold out in pre-orders despite a starting price of €2,275,000. Each packs 1,054 PS (1,039 hp / 775 kW) and 1,400 Nm (1,033 lb-ft) of torque.
