Spanish photographers have taken pics of the naked body of a fifth-gen C-Class prototype. It looks like the compact car family should be ready for launch in the first half of 2021.
As usual for the marque, the changes are subtle and far between: the rear caliper mounts have been moved to a different position, the sculpted sides slightly retouched and the brake lights given extra triangular sections for the tailgate.
The range now includes a sedan, a coupe, a convertible and the All-Terrain crosswagon. The currently used rear-wheel drive platform MRA will probably carry over into the next generation with considerable suspension updates.
In its next iteration, the C-Class will ditch its six- and eight-cylinder engine in favor of various electrified turbo-fours.
Inside, there will be a new steering wheel, a digital dashboard and a touch-sensitive climate control panel combined with the infotainment display.
