The next-gen Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan and wagon have finally arrived, debuting side by side a couple of days ago. Let us delve into the specifics of both versions.
The new lineup uses exclusively four-cylinder engines and nine-speed automatic transmissions. It also benefits from a 48-volt engine starter add-on that generates extra 20 PS (20 hp / 15 kW) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) and improves fuel economy. The base spec has 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW) and 250 Nm (183 lb-ft) total, whereas the top spec has 265 PS (261 hp / 195 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft).
The range also encompasses PHEVs equipped with large 25.4-kWh batteries sufficient for 100 kilometers (62 miles) of driving. The main spec has 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque.
Both the sedan and the family car come with a 10.25-inch digital dashboard and adjustable air-ride suspension in the back. They also benefit from such options as a second-gen MBUX infotainment with an advanced voice assistant, adaptive lighting, 4WS, and a middle airbag between the driver and the front passenger.
Sales in Europe will begin on March 30, and all prices remain pending.
