We first heard about Mercedes’ plans to launch a cross-country-capable variant of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class in 2019, and now, it has finally been introduced on official terms.
The basic formula is the same as with the E-Class All-Terrains: robust bumpers all around, a redesigned radiator grille, wheel arch extensions, and an imitated skid plate.
Aside from these mostly cosmetic features and a mild increase in ride height, the car comes equipped with a trailer hook, headlights capable of Off-Road Mode, and an all-wheel drive system that distributes the momentum in a 45:55 ratio front-to-rear. Assorted drive modes are provided for various light and heavy off-road scenarios.
As far as powertrains go, customers may still choose from the available turbocharged four-cylinders – one burning petrol and the other one diesel fuel. The exact performance values haven’t been announced yet, but it is official that both are mild hybrids.
