The German car manufacturer Mercedes-AMG has come to the New York International Auto Show with the next-generation C-Class vehicle lineup. The new performance cars got “C63” added to their model names and come equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission which replaced the seven-speed one.
The updated sedan, coupe and estate received no under-the-hood adjustments. All three retain their stock 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engines capable of between 475 and 510 hp (354 – 380 kW). The high-end version of Mercedes-AMG C63 S can accelerate to a maximum of 290 km/h (180 mph) and sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in trifling 3.9 seconds.
Apart from adjustable suspension, all C-Class vehicle offer six selectable drive modes, a digital instrument panel and a large-screen multimedia center.
