Mercedes-AMG C63 S gets 600hp engine from G-Power

German tuning atelier G-Power has revealed an upgrade kit for the new Mercedes-AMG C63 S performance sedan. The upgrade improves the performance of the stock engine along with the overall appearance of the car.

Engineers have made their best effort to improve the stock engine beyond its already respectable 510 hp (380 kW) and 700 Nm (515 lb·ft) of torque. They ended up developing what they called the Performance Module, a chip that modified the way the engine worked.

As a result, the output of the 4.0-liter V8 unit went up to 600 hp (447 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb·ft).

For those who want still more, G-Power offers Mercedes-AMG C63 S Upgrade Stage 2, which brings its performance to a whole new level of 800 hp (597 kW). Despite the formidable figure, the company assures that the car’s safety and reliability remains unaffected.

In order for the drivetrain of the four-door sedan to cope with the newly gained power efficiently, G-Power suggests making certain modifications to the turbocharger and exhaust system design. Those with extra money may opt for a new, stainless-steel, sport-grade exhaust system instead.

The vehicle is now able to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.8 seconds and can ultimately reach 300 km/h (186 mph).

G-Power remained silent about the cost of the upgrade.
