It is no secret to anyone that car tuners simply love measuring the acceleration performance and maximum speeds of supercars. The Internet is brimming with videos dedicated to just that. Too bad that numerous more affordable cars remain almost completely neglected. Imagine our joy when Performmaster took its engine-tuned Mercedes-AMG C43 “S” out on a test ride.
In its production form, the premium sedan/saloon packs a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 capable of 390 hp (291 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lbft) of torque. The tuner raises these figures to roughly 460 hp (343 kW) and 610 Nm (450 lbft) of torque, which is a commendable feat in its own right. But is it quite enough to bring the C43 on par with the range-topping AMG C63 S, which comes armed with a 4.0 V8 TT rated at 510 hp (380 kW)?
