0-300 km/h in eight seconds: Marvel at Europe’s fastest Mercedes

GAD Motors first took this clinically insane Mercedes-AMG C63 build out for tests a few weeks ago, and now no doubt remains that it’s the Old World’s fastest Mercedes vehicle.

The talented team began by dismantling the old 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 and putting a superior M 157 V8 in its place. The engine was subsequently bored out to 5.8 liters of displacement and received dual upgrade turbochargers, pistons, tie rods, crankshaft, injection and cooling. The result surpassed all expectations when 1,200 horsepower (895 kilowatts) hit the wheels instead of 457 hp (341 kW).

The next step was improving the transmission, the brakes and the heat distribution. Despite all of the above, the team had to cool the intercooler down with ice prior to driving.

Tanked up with racing-grade fuel, the sports car proceeded to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.7 seconds after the start, then 200 km/h (124 mph) in another 3.9 seconds and 300 km/h (186 mph) in 7.9 s. The odometer was showing 302.16 km/h when the track projectile zapped past the half-mile line, cementing its status as Europe’s fastest-accelerating tuned production car.

And if all the above was still not enough for you, consider that this example has no aero kit to speak of and still keeps its vanilla interior.
