Three Australian tuning shops - eTuners, Deluxe Boy Werx, and Maranello Auto Services – joined their efforts to equip a 53-year-old W108 Mercedes-Benz saloon with a powertrain taken straight out of a 2017 AMG С 63 S.
The body is about the only thing left stock here, although it has been comprehensively restored. The OEM styling has been painstakingly preserved, with only aftermarket 19-inch wheels and yellow AMG brake calipers to show for the work. Oh, and there’s an S badge at the rear, too.
The stock 4.5-liter V8 rated at 198 PS (195 hp / 146 kW) made way for a four-liter twin-turbo AMG eight-banger massaged to deliver 522 PS (515 hp / 384 kW) at the wheels. Powered up like this, the aged saloon can outdrift some newfangled sports cars.
The interior largely comes from a right-hand-drive C 63 AMG as well: there is a new front panel, a sporty-looking steering wheel, and seats.
Complete conversion costs were never mentioned.
