Mercedes-Benz has used the 2019 Geneva Motor Show as an opportunity to reveal a Shooting Brake implementation of its 2nd-gen CLA estate/wagon.
The new car is 4,688 mm (15.38 ft.) long, 1,999 mm (6.56 ft.) wide and 1,442 mm (4.73 ft.) tall with 2,729 mm (8.95 ft.) between the front and the rear axle.
The vehicle benefits from a newer version of the MFA chassis, which has become more rigid while enabling the manufacturer to reduce noise and vibrations in the cabin and enlarge the trunk area to 505 liters (17.8 cubic feet).
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake ships with an MBUX head unit with voice control support. It also has a self-drive feature similar to that found on the S-Class flagship. The car is aware of its current environment and can adjust speed automatically whenever it approaches crossroads and highway junctions.
The model will initially ship with a 2.0-liter turbocharged V4 rated at 225 hp (168 kW), mated to a 7-speed semi-automatic transmission. Other gasoline and diesel options will emerge later on.
