This old Mercedes 200E rat car sports a BMW M50 under the hood

News sections called “Crazy / Wild / Insane Tuning” seem to exist for entries like this one. The owner of this antiquated Mercedes 200E (W124) had his car rebuilt from the ground up – and it shows.

He began by swapping the standard engine for the BMW M50 series. The latter is capable of anywhere between 150 and 192 hp, depending on the particular model, and takes quite a bit of skill to shove under the hood of the 200E. Judging by the end result, the man didn’t sweat too much, though.

He also wrapped the car in a Belgian-made WrapJunkies film, added Clinched fender flares with exposed fastenings, and replaced the stock wheels with a 17” stainless-steel set custom-produced by velgen.nl.

The Mercedes 200E also gained new front bumper with a spoiler, a massive rear wing and an air kit by Kean Suspensions.

The interior of the car was stripped to the bare essentials. The only remaining things of note were simple metallic seats and a roll cage.

Well? Is this crazy enough for you?
