Do you remember the iconic Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG (W211)? The car had a thoroughly unassuming exterior that didn’t do its supercharged V8 engine with 476 hp (355 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lbft) of torque any justice at all.
Apparently, Denis Ivanov, an amateur drifter from Oakland, CA, decided his E55 AMG could still do much better than that. He went on to turn his ride into a real drift car, getting rid of every last bit of understatement as he did so.
Denis calls his modded ride ‘Dapper Drift-DRFTBNZ’. It now sports a body wrapped in a matte-green film and wearing a shiny black aero kit consisting of fender flares, a front spoiler lip, and an aggressive sporty diffusor.
He swapped the stock wheels out for an 18-inch set of TSW Chrono rims painted matte-black and lowered the ride height with the help of the KW Variant 2 suspension kit.
From the technical point of view, the vehicle now takes advantage of an HAG215 rear differential, a hydraulic handbrake, and Wilwood brake components.
Unusually enough, the tuner decided against messing with the interior of the car too much. While most track tool owners tend to ditch all the equipment they don’t need, this particular Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG (W211) even got to keep its climate control system. Then again, we can’t help but respect this decision. After all, we all need that extra little bit of comfort sometimes…
There was no mention of the total cost of the conversion.
