Bring a Trailer has recently posted an ad offering to buy this rare Renntech-tuned Mercedes-Benz E60 for an unspecified price. Interestingly, the bespoke vehicle is based on an old 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500 E and not on a W124 E60, as one might think.
Back when it arrived on the market in 1992, the executive supersedan packed a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine with class-leading performance (326 hp / 243 kW).
Renntech retrofitted the unit with a new all-carbon intake system, a sports exhaust and a few other modern features. It also managed to expand the displacement volume all the way from five to six liters, bringing the total output up to around 400 hp (300 kW).
Other notable upgrades of this particular Renntech Mercedes-Benz E60 include various reinforcements made to the stock SL 500 transmission, a rear-axle diff lock, a lowering kit, and a set of 17-inch, multi-piece AMG Monoblock wheels. Finally, the car got stripped of its anti-skid / traction control system, the so-called ASR, to ensure maximum acceleration and speed.
