Mercedes is going to supplement its AMG E-Class series with a new coupe and a convertible, both of which will get the model suffix 53. CEO of Mercedes-AMG Tobias Moers has confirmed this information in a statement made earlier today.
Unfortunately, there is still no technical data available on either of these cars. Car professionals, however, expect both to come with the “old and proven” three-liter, six-cylinder engines capable of up to 430 horsepower.
Another Mercedes car to be phased out soon is the four-door CLS Coupe 63, which will be replaced by a more powerful four-door AMG GT model that debuts in 2018.
