Many fans wait in anticipation for Liqui-Moly Bathurst, a 12-hour endurance race which will be held near the town of Bathurst, Australia in February 2018.
This year’s event will be attended by the Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ sedan – albeit not as a race participant this time around. For the first time in history, the vehicle will function as a safety car.
To that end, it will come equipped with a no-nonsense 4.0-liter, bi-turbo, eight-cylinder engine capable of exceeding 600 horsepower and 850 Nm torque. It will be able to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in mere 3.4 seconds and travel at a maximum of 300 km/h (187 mph).
As per the tradition, this special edition of the Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ will get a unique livery with the words SAFETY CAR written all over it. It will also take advantage of a roof-mounted LED strobe light bar.
