Some of you may wonder if the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S even needs anything like a performance upgrade – and for a good reason, since the car already counts among the strongest vehicles on the mass market. Nonetheless, the German tuning atelier Posaidon decided to try and unleash its full engine potential.
In its stock version, the vehicle comes equipped with a hi-end 4.0L turbocharged V8 engine capable of exceeding 600 hp (450 kW). The Black Knight upgrade brings its performance up to a spectacular 880 hp (656 kW) thanks to an engine control firmware update, installation of new turbochargers, a better transmission, a new injection system, a turbocharger air cooler, and a sport-grade exhaust filter. The upgraded vehicle also benefits from improved torque (1,200 Nm or 885 lb·ft) and accelerates to almost 360 km/h (223 mph).
On the outside, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S The Black Knight sports decorative side mirror moldings, a new diffusor, a rear wing lip, and a carbon front splitter. Some carbon parts can also be found in the interior of the luxurious vehicle.
Posaidon declined comment on the upgrade cost.
