The all-electric crossover SUV duo has been spotted testing outdoors with hardly any camouflage going on.
Based on the videos, both the EQA and the EQB are nearly identical in appearance to their ICE counterparts, the GLA and GLB. Differences boil down to fake grilles replacing the real ones and mildly redesigned lights. The inside isn’t shown, but we expect an updated infotainment system with EV-specific features added.
The EQA was due out last year, but the company still has to announce a new launch date after canceling the original one due to the pandemic. The EQB had been slated for launch in 2021 since last February, but it remains open whether it is ready for premiere, given that its prototype is currently lapping up the Nürburgring.
Technical specs remain unannounced. The EQA Concept had dual electric motors jointly rated at 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) and a 60-kWh battery for 400 km (248 miles) of range.
AMG spinoffs of the EQA and EQB models are also likely to appear, but details are lacking at this point.
