See through this translucent Mercedes-Benz EQC400

Mercedes has built an EQC show car with openings in its body allowing a sneak peek into its insides. Practicing interns cut out the holes and put diodes in them to illuminate the electronics, wiring and powertrain.

The team has spent 36 hours cutting the EQC 400 body and another 50 hours burring the metallic edges and tidying things up. They used 15 meters (about 50 feet) of LED strip and put multiple information displays into the cabin to help guests understand what they were looking at.

As for the Mercedes-Benz EQC400 itself, the model has been in production since last year. It comes powered by dual electric motors rated at 420 PS (414 hp / 309 kW) and has 417 kilometers of manufacturer-rated range (259 miles).
