The German luxury carmaker has completely unveiled the interior of its impending all-electric flagship, the EQS. Care for a closer look?
According to Mercedes-Benz, the car’s interior shape was partly dictated by its ultra-low drag ratio of just 0.20, a record among production cars. The company claims it achieved it through the use of an innovative vehicle platform.
The giant MBUX Hyperscreen spanning 141 cm (55 inches) wide dominates the dashboard, combining the functions of three touchscreens displays at once: a 17.7-inch center screen and two 12.3-inch screens at the sides. Note that the Hyperscreen is a paid option not included in the base spec.
Another major feature comes in the form of Soundscapes, a synthesizer that plays back a mix of various sounds to substitute for the missing hum of an internal combustion engine, setting the mood for a comfortable and enjoyable ride.
Elsewhere, interior trim details boast what Mercedes calls ‘dynamic perforation’ and ‘intricate stitching’. A special fragrance known as the No.6 MOOD Linen fills the air, the HEPA filters are state-of-the-art, and there is an interior assistant that can help customize every in-car feature to suit the tastes of the driver and passengers.
