The Mercedes-Benz EQS has everything it needs to compete successfully with luxury electric sedans like the Lucid Air or the Tesla Model S (for a given definition of ‘luxury’). Edmunds just found out how much battery juice the EQS has.
According to EPA, the standard single-motor EQS 450+ spec offers 563 km (350 miles) of range. Edmunds took the car on a 12-hour-long trip with the outside temperatures averaging out at 20ºC (68ºF). By the time the battery indicator showed zero, the car had made 680 km (422 miles), an improvement of 117 km (72 miles) over the claimed figure.
The EQS rode on 20-inch wheels wrapped in stock Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tires inflated to their recommended pressure.
