An 880-HP Mercedes G63 AMG debuts in Geneva

The opulent Mercedes G63 AMG Star Trooper 20th Anniversary Edition by Mansory and the hardly less classy Brabus 800 Widestar by Brabus both premiered at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show a few days ago. The former received a boost to 850 hp (634 kW), while the latter “made do” with 800 hp (596 kW). Now, we will say that both are downright impressive, but this example by Posaidon may yet shame them in terms of raw acceleration power. Welcome: the Posaidon G RS 830+, a G-Wagen that packs 880 hp (656 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lbft)!

Seriously, no other tuner has gotten the latest Mercedes G63 AMG quite as high before. The Stage 3 upgrade kit includes chip tuning, two new high-performance turbochargers, a forged cylinder assembly, a high-pressure fuel pump, and a cat-back exhaust system with a new exhaust manifold.

The Posaidon G RS 830+ only takes 3.7 seconds to get going at 100 km/h (62 mph) and doesn’t stop accelerating until 271 km/h (168 mph), a result that is downright fantastic for an SUV that weighs two and a half metric tons (5,500 lb.).

For those wishing to cut corners, Posaidon has two cheaper options on the counter: Stage 2 (830 hp / 620 kW and 1,100 Nm / 811 lbft) and Stage 1 (700 hp / 522 kW and 950 Nm / 700 lbft). The latter boils down to pure chip tuning. Both remove the 250 km/h (155 mph) speed cap.

In defiance to most all other Geneva tuners, the Posaidon car looks completely stock on the outside and inside, making it a formidable sleeper.
