The German automaker Mercedes-Benz officially announced the imminent halt of the mass production of the off-roader G500 4x4². This is done in anticipation of the launch of the next generation G-Class release. The premiere of the novelty will be held soon after the New Year.
Recall, the Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4² was designed for travel on an extremely "unfriendly" terrain. This machine has become an alternative to the more expensive six-wheeled development company G 63 AMG 6x6. In fact, the G500 4x4² is an ordinary "Gelendvagen", but it has a full drive and portal bridges. Under the hood of the car is hidden 422-strong "eight", which works together with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The car accelerates from place to "hundred" in just over 7 seconds.
Presentation of the new generation G-Class will take place in January at the Auto Show in Detroit. Almost immediately, the reception of applications for the purchase of this product starts. However, in Europe the car will not appear until the summer of 2018.
Analyzing numerous photos of the novelty, we can conclude that it will be much larger than its predecessor, which will positively affect the comfort of passengers in the rear seats. However, the increase in dimensions will not affect the weight of the car, thanks to the use of modern materials, its weight on the contrary will decrease by 400 kilograms.
