The tuner workshop from Bottrop, Germany has released yet another variation of the iconic Mercedes-AMG G 63, called the Brabus 800 Black & Gold Edition.
As one can guess from the title, the project focuses on a dual-color styling kit. This is far from being its complete description, however, because the full treatment includes carbon aerodynamic parts, fender extensions that add 100 mm (4 inches) to the body width, and 23-inch wheels wrapped in Advan Sport 305/35 tires.
The 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 is also far from stock in the Brabus version, enjoying a boost from its standard 585 PS (577 hp; 430 kW) to 800 PS (789 hp; 588 kW). The torque rises from 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) to 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft).
Even in its bone-stock form, the AMG G 63 only needs 4.5 seconds to get from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph), and the Brabus version is 0.4 s faster at that discipline. The top speed depends on the particular configuration and varies between 220 and 240 km/h (136 – 149 mph); Brabus does not reveal whether its G 63 is faster than that.
