The Brabus INVICTO is an armored G-Wagen with plenty of comfort options

Brabus has unveiled the INVICTO Mission, a custom-built, fully certified Mercedes G-Class capable of withstanding sustained Kalashnikov gunfire and grenade explosions under the car or next to it.

The ballistic armor is fastened to the car in such a way as to prevent bullets from coming in even when the attacker shoots at point-blank range. After showering a test car with lead, Ulm Firearms Control Service found it compliant with VPAM BRV 2009 (VR6) and VPAM ERV protection standards. This becomes all the more impressive if you consider that attaining such stellar levels of protection normally involves designing and producing an armored vehicle from scratch, and often isn’t considered possible or viable when working on a production model.

Brabus offers a range of armored G-Class SUVs, and the one revealed today is called Mission. The company claims it is perfect as a convoy vehicle, but the cabin makes us think it could really be more than a guard’s car. The features include variable-geometry seats created with memory foam to allow for bulky flak jackets, digital mirrors, bullet-resistant tires and even the Acetech intelligence system with a touchscreen. The full list is several pages long.

Brabus did not reveal how much the INVICTO may cost, and there is little doubt that prices vary wildly depending on clients’ particular requirements.
