The compact Mitsubishi crossover is one of the most anticipated autonovelties in the world. The previous model — Outlander PHEV SUV — was a runaway success, so that the excitement around the Eclipse appeared logical.
Seat Ateca and Nissan Qashqai will become the main competitors of the Mitsubishi crossover. The Japanese novelty will borrow seats from the first. The exterior was developed on the basis of design of the XR-PHEV II concept car, presented to public within Geneva showroom of 2015. The Outlander platform acts as Eclipse base, under the hood there is a petrol turbocharged 1,5-l. or 2,2-l. It is the engine with a power about 120 horsepowers and torque of 200 N/m. There will be available versions with a front-wheel and all-wheel drive.The body will be made of lungs, but strong materials.
The official debut of the Eclipse crossover will occur on the future auto show in Swiss Geneva. Sales will begin at the end of 2017, and by the beginning of 2018 the car will be available in the main world car markets.
