Remember the G500 4×4² SUV that Mercedes-Benz produced five years ago? Watch the video if you don’t – it’s quite a sight. The company is working on a similar model based on the latest-gen G-Class, and here’s a bunch of spy shots showing it from all angles.
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz G-Class 4×4² derives most of its visual aesthetics from the AMG G63, but adds flared fenders, new alloys, a roof rack, a ladder, a new spare wheel mount, more ground clearance, redesigned suspension arms, and ventilated brakes with red calipers.
In all likelihood, the model will keep the 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 under the hood while gaining a couple of improvements for its ten-speed automatic transmission. Three diff locks and numerous intelligent assist features are also going to be on the list.
