A while ago, Daimler AG CEO Ola Källenius vowed to make the next-gen G-Class a purely electric SUV. It will be a while until that happens, however, and in the meantime, the regular G-Class will be getting an especially capable off-road version.
Car spotters have tracked down these two test vehicles, both wearing only minimal amounts of disguise. The portal axle at the front is still there, but the suspension looks different, and the wheels and arches appear much larger.
We expect the hardcore new G-Class to hit the spotlight soon.
