Jon Olsson puts his €250,000 ride to the chainsaw

Jon Olsson, a famous Swedish professional skier, must have found it annoying that his brand spankin’ new Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² was too bulky to fit into his garage. So he went ahead and… well, turned his 800-horsepower ride into an open-top.

The roof, the upper part of the trunk compartment, and the B- and C-pillars were all sawn clean off. Jon is now consulting with tuning ateliers to work out a suitable replacement for the roof, since apparently there is still such a thing as bad weather to reckon with in Sweden. Anyway, the car should be complete by mid-January 2018.

It’s worth pointing out that Jon Olsson had previously paid a tidy sum to equip his Mercedes-Benz G500 with roof lights and a spacious rack to hold some fuel canisters, a spade, an axe, and a spare. Unfortunately, these were ultimately the reason the car ended up unable to fit into his garage in Monaco.
