Next-gen, diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz G-Class to be released in spring 2019

The next generation of Mercedes-Benz G-Class diesel vehicles will enjoy its public premiere in 4Q 2018 and go on sale quite a while later, in spring 2019.

The German manufacturer said it would begin taking pre-orders straight after the world premiere.

The Mercedes-Benz G 350d 4Matic will be obtainable in two specifications based on the 4.0-liter V8 gasoline engine: AMG G 63 and G 500. Another specification will ship with an OM656 diesel engine similar to those installed onto the latest CLS and C-Class vehicles. Its performance may remain within the familiar range of 286 – 340 horsepower (213 – 253 kW), but an improvement is possible, either.

Pricing range and trim levels will be announced much later.
