The G-Wagen manages to stay iconic and recognizable despite many years of updates – perhaps the trademark boxiness is to blame. It now appears that the off-roader is getting ready for another nip-and-tuck.
The photos depict not one, but two AMG G63 prototypes wrapped in camo at both ends, while the sides stay exposed. They definitely look like AMG models – note the sidepipes adjacent to the rear wheels. Powertrain-wise, we wouldn’t expect the refreshed G-Class to be any different from the current model, although an all-electric version is also in the works.
While the exterior camo may not conceal anything of note (we were unable to find anything interesting), blacked-out glass all around suggests that it is the cabin that hides the most interesting changes. We have no info on that yet, but it would be nice if the latest S-Class could share at least some of its features with the G-Class.
