German tuner cranks the G-Wagen to 805 PS, gives it a tacky makeover

Performmaster has worked its tuning magic on another Mercedes-AMG G63, landing this one with a widebody kit, a redesigned interior and a power boost.

Modifications begin on the outside with a massive radiator grille with the tuner’s logo in the middle, flared fenders and enlarged hood intakes. The sides sport aftermarket running boards backlit for style and convenience, while the rear bumper sports carbon fiber inserts. A roof spoiler rounds things off at that end.

The cabin benefits from subtler changes largely expressed through trim materials: watch out for all the added leather and artificial suede trim pieces where there were none before.

A major upgrade resides under the hood of the traditional German off-roader, where upsized turbos an external tuning module drive the four-liter V8 from its original 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) and 805 PS (794 hp / 592 kW). The torque sees a similar increase from the already impressive 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) to a mountain-moving 1,020 Nm (752 lb-ft). Sporty tires enable the bulky G-Class AMG to run its standard sprint in 3.7 seconds and ultimately hit 260 km/h (162 mph) in a straight line.
