GLA – the smallest crossover with the Mercedes badge – will go into Generation II on December 11, 2019.
The first iteration of the model proved quite popular among customers, and the German luxury carmaker is optimistic about the successor. So optimistic, in fact, that it will be arranging a special event in Stuttgart, Germany to reveal the Gen2.
The car will become around 10 centimeters (4 inches) taller than it is now, but will still come based on the A-Class hatchback platform. As such, it will also get the A-Class overall styling, interior and engine range. The latter will encompass turbocharged four-cylinder engines ranging between 1.33 and 2 liters, and the range-topping AMG 45 S will boast 421 hp (314 kW) at the crank.
Sales of the updated Mercedes-Benz GLA will begin in 2020.
