Three powerful AMG versions of the Mercedes-Benz GLA Class become available for purchase in Europe today: the GLA 35 4Matic, the GLA 45 4Matic+, and the GLA 45 S 4Matic+. All three have two-liter / four-cylinder engines under the hood, but the power varies from version to version.
The Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4Matic opens the EU lineup with a relatively modest price tag of €54,204. Its engine produces 306 hp (228 kW) and links to the AMG Speedshift DCT 8G transmission (eight-speed, dual-clutch).
The GLA 45 4Matic+ packs the M 139 engine model boosted to 387 horsepower (289 kilowatts) and starts from €67,772. The GLA 45 S sits at the pinnacle of the range with 421 hp (313 kW) and €68,365 minimum price tag. It also boasts the world’s best mass-produced four-cylinder engine in terms of horsepower-per-displacement ratio.
